Sunderban

The land of trails and tides

Sunderbans, the largest mangrove forest in the world and home to the Royal Bengal Tiger is a treasure trove of ecological diversity. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Sunderbans region is home to around 250 tigers, crocodiles, gharials, swamp deer and dolphins. Criss-crossed by hundreds of tributaries and creeks, the forest still remains an untapped paradise and hence, a nature-lover’s delight. Sankalp Yoga and Retreat offers weekend getaways to Sunderbans that include comfortable accommodation in our own resort. Our tour programmes include a day trip to the Sunderbans Tiger Reserve by boat, a visit to the tribal villages of Burirdabri and Jhingakhali (Bangladesh border). Also visit Tagore’s house and Hamilton bungalow in Gosaba. Our trip includes visit to Sajnekhali, Sudhanyakhali and Dobanki -- places of unmatched beauty. We organise tribal dance programmes by local people to give our clients a taste of the local culture.

Come, explore with us the largest estuarine forest in the world and soak yourself in the pristine natural beauty where the land meets the sea and striped tigers are on the prowl.
